When most people read the title of this confession, they will probably assume I’m referring to track and field. The truth of the matter is, “Ready to Win” is my daily mindset and a phrase I use to conquer each day. If we were always in “Ready to Win” mode, we would look at each task in life and execute with laser precision most of the time.

When I wake up each morning, I ask myself, “Dom, are you ready to win?” A few times the answer has been “NO.” When that happens, I have to take a few minutes to be still, then I put pen to paper to make sure my daily goals are written down. Whether you know it or not, without goals, we are lost and going nowhere fast. It’s a different and amazing kind of accountability we can’t get from anything else. People who write their goals down go further in life than those who don’t. If the answer to the question “Dom, are you ready to win?” is, “NO,” that simply means I haven’t committed to excellence. Committing to excellence is a productive routine! If I’m not ready to win, I won’t have a great chance of creating a successful day or hitting my targets that I set for the week.

This “Ready to Win” mindset has landed me right where I prayed to be after facing major adversity four years ago. Since adding the “Ready to Win” mentality to my daily routine, I’m more confident and motivated. You should try it! Here are a few things that I’ve created with this daily mindset:

  1. I’m successfully back on the track, racing and representing my country as a pro track and field athlete.
  2. I’m Influencing the culture of business and sports.
  3. I’m accomplishing my entrepreneurial dreams as a business owner.
  4. Most importantly, having the opportunity to change lives by turning my passions into valuable projects to serve people worldwide.
